Public Works crews install a new speed control device near Pleasant Grove Elementary School as part of the City’s Speed Control Program |
Six Elk Grove Streets Will Get Speed Control Help Six Elk Grove streets will be transformed with traffic calming improvements under the City’s Speed Control Program this summer. A total of nine asphalt speed tables, three asphalt speed humps and signing and striping are being installed during this construction season on Pleasant Grove School Road, Toscano Drive, Sierra River Drive, Stathos Drive, Clarke Farms Drive and Sierra Street. An additional twelve streets have been approved for speed tables, or speed humps, and fifteen streets have been approved for roadway stripping as part of the program. These improvements will be installed as separate construction projects in the future as more funding becomes available. The program establishes a system for residents to nominate and vote on streets to receive traffic calming measures, provided the streets meet qualifying safety criteria and funding is available.
